Offsite Backup for AAA Financial
AAA Financial, incorporated in the State of Florida and “The Nation’s #1
Bi-Weekly Mortgage Program”, began using Vectrocon’s Technosurety? service in
December of 2006. As part of Vectrocon’s ongoing support of their IT
infrastructure, it became apparent that a strong offsite backup solution would
be of immense importance in hurricane prone Florida.
Vectrocon deployed a hybrid backup solution including a SonicWall CDP 3440i
backup device coupled with high-strength encryption to an offsite data
repository. The firm’s entire collection of data is stored on the local device
in an encrypted format for fast file restores in case of a local emergency,
such as an accidentally deleted file. Additionally, the device replicates the
encrypted data offsite to a secured data center.
Should a catastrophe wipe out the entire building or server room, agreements
allow for Sonicwall to ship a device out that will contain all of AAA’s
encrypted data. Vectrocon can then deploy the device to a new network location
and restore all of the data.
“To a firm with regulatory requirements to protect data, especially here in not
always sunny Florida, an offsite backup solution is critical,” says Vectrocon
South Florida Manager Peter Lampard.
Vectrocon will soon be rolling out its Technosurety? Backup service, which will
allow our clients to backup their entire networks remotely to our secure,
generator backed data center in New Jersey. Using the latest in de-duplication
and file compression techniques, as well as sophisticated agentless backup, we
will reduce the price point of these solutions so that they are less expensive
than tape or local with much higher levels of reliability and integrated
disaster recovery.
